Turntable 2sday: DMC Champion DJ Shiftee + Traktor
For this week's installment of Turntable 2sday, Native Instruments brings us a DMC Champion doing his thang with a combination of Traktor and the X1 controller. DJ Shiftee takes the forever classic "Hip Hop" performed by Dred Prez and flips into a dub step remix. I am more and more impressed with Traktor and the X1 controller every time I see one of these videos, I guess it also helps that some of the best turntablists in the world are involved.
With the addition of digital interfaces combined with the creative mind of a DJ, producer, singer or whatever you are, levels of performance are becoming limitless. Back in the day DJs thought technology would never even come close to matching the art form, but now technology is not only pushing the art form, but allowing various art forms to come together and go places above and beyond.

Turntable 2sday: TRAKTOR VS SERATO scratch comparison By DJ Qbert !!!
DJ Qbert himself puts the Serato's Scratch Live against Traktor's Scratch Pro in a head to head comparison dealing specifically with scratching.
Traktor is a Native Instruments product and is known for it four independent effects units and its advanced beat detection and Sync Lock for perfect mixing. Notables rockin' Traktor include DJ Craze, DJ Rafik, Carl Cox, and DJ Shiftee just to name a few. For the complete list of Traktor artists check out the Traktor website.
Serato Scratch Live comes to us from Rane, more notable for its mixers before Serato came along. Scratch Live is the industry standard as far as digital interfaces go with features including a SP-6 Sample Player and the next level video SL plug-in, which allows a DJ to scratch, mix, and manipulate audio/video files in real time. Some of the world's top DJs use Scratch Live including Sasha, Steve Aoki, A-trak, DJ Jazzy Jeff and even King Zulu Nation himself, Afrika Bambaataa. Check out the Serato Scratch Live site to see all the other DJs on Serato.
