"Tightrope (Wondamix)" Janelle Monae ft B.O.B & Lupe Fiasco

"She’s been called 'a different kind of diva' by Vogue Magazine and 'a true visionary… one of the most important signings of my career' by Sean “Diddy” Combs." This is the first sentence on Janelle Monae's bio page on her web site JMonae.com, she was all over the ESPY's a few weeks ago, just released her debut album The ArchAndroid, and is on the cover of the August/September issue of Vibe magazine with Officer Ricky and Diddy himself. Can we say "BLOWIN UP!!!" Monae definitely has the talent and sound to back up all the hype, with the addition of B.O.B and Lupe, on an already hot "Tightrope," she takes one more step beyond something special.

"Mojo So Dope" Kid Cudi

Another Cudi Track, no whack ass drops on it either. Just sit back and ride the beat.

UNCUT: "Vagina" & "Tonight & Love Come Down"

I happened to see these videos back to back and immediately was taken back to when BET's Uncut was still around, so you should automatically expect to see some ass shakin', just a heads up. Check out Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Whoo Kid in "Vagina," the title explains it all. Below that is a track by Fabolous, "Tonight & Love Come Down," featuring Red Cafe.

Faimkills and Captian - Dystopia Cornucopia (Free Mixtape Download)

We really haven't heard much from Faimkills since October when he dropped a beast of a record titled "A Thought Ghetto-Messtape, but now we know why he's been working on his new EP titled "Dystopia Cornucopia." This follow up does not disapoint with incredible production from Captain and of course the lyrics are always on point. Dystopia Cornucopia has features from Curtis King, Yasin, Art Barz, and Noa James all part of the Black Cloud family which is a problem in the I.E. hip-hop scene. With only nine tracks which pack a major punch Dystopia Cornucopia leaves you wanting more from Faimkills. From what I am hearing Faimkills next album will be a tribute to The Smiths, being a Smiths fan I cant wait to hear what Faimkills has in store. But for now download Dystopia Cornupia and enjoy an original hip-hop sound.

Turntable 2sday: The Midi-Fighter Mix by Ean Golden

This addition to Turntable 2sday comes way of DJtechtools.com and a little something called "controllerism." I'm not the biggest fan of only using controllers to rock the party; I'd prefer a combination of controllerism, turntablism, and mixing, but I'm not here hate. For those of you saying "what the f*ck is controllerism," it's the art of producing and manipulating music live using computer controllers and software. I've never seen it live in action, but never the less, there are some folks out there who can rock it and Ean Golden is one of them. Check out his 10 minute mini mix, which includes a little bit of everything and if you want to learn more about controllerism, check DJtechtools. The site is filled with tips for DJs, reviews of gear, and all things related to digital DJing.
